Here is a roundup of my Instagram snaps from the past few weeks. As you can see, I love to take a lot of detail shots of my outfits to highlight my favourite items, as well as pieces that often get overlooked. We are going to start doing monthly Instagram posts on the blog so that you guys can see what we wear on a more frequent basis and also what we like to do in our spare time.

On another note, I go to New York in a month, which means Liv and I will finally be reunited, can't wait! xo

Everly.

Olivia's wearing: Topshop t-shirt and tweed skirt, H&M necklace, Karen Walker rings,
Nixon watch, Jeffrey Campbell 'Everly' boots.

What do you do when a hurricane is approaching? You take blog photos of course. I got sent home from work early to 'prepare' for Hurricane Sandy, but I decided to take a few snaps of my outfit instead. I've been living in my Jeffrey Campbell Everly's since I got them last week, they're one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever owned, the leather feels like silk on my feet. I love pairing grungy and feminine pieces together, like these boots and this metallic, tweed skirt. This is a prime example of the type of outfits I like to wear to work.

Slouchy.

Olivia's wearing: Zara t-shirt and jeans, Senso 'Bertina' boots.

I've been dressing like a boy more and more lately, it seems my style motto has become: the slouchier and the less feminine, the better. This outfit is the epitome of that, I was just having one of those days where I woke up not feeling the best, so I wanted to be comfortable and content all day. I can see myself living in variations of this for the next couple of months.

NY.

From left: 1/ My favourite street in Times Square, 42nd Street 2/ The beautiful Brooklyn Bridge 3/ Wang botanical jeans and studded Zara boots 4/ Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots 5/ A delicious Belgian waffle 6/ The amazing Celine Trapeze that I drooled over in a Brooklyn boutique 7/ The comfiest outfit ever: my favourite jeans, my military jacket and my Marant sneakers 8/ Senso Bertina's 9/ A gloomy morning in Times Square

Some more Instagram snaps of my recent adventures and indulgences in New York. I had been wanting a pair of the Senso Bertina's for months and finally took the plunge last week. I decided to get the matte snake ones because I love the edgy, textured leather as opposed to smooth leather like all of my other shoes. I had also been stalking the Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots since I saw them on my style crush, Elle Ferguson, from They All Hate Us. I don't think I really need to explain why I like these boots, they're just all kinds of awesome.

Kenzo Sweaters.

Photos from carolinesmode and Tumblr.

I actually really like all the Kenzo sweaters that everyone's wearing lately, particularly the tiger ones. I've been looking for a sweater to put on rotation this winter in NY, so one of these babies might just be it. They're quite reasonably priced too, pity they seem to be sold out everywhere (or perhaps that's a good thing).

Elin Kling for Marciano: Interview.

Photos: Joe Schildhorn /BFAnyc.com.

I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Elin Kling's capsule collection for Marciano last week. The pieces are all very simple and versatile, but with a slight edge. The collection definitely has hints of Elin's signature, minimalist style, especially the denim shirt and the amazing leather pants, which I would kill to get my hands on. I got to interview Elin for a few minutes, which was a very proud moment for me, considering I've followed her blog for so long and have always been a fan of her style. Celebrities like Olivia Palermo, Katie Cassidy and Aussie model, Nicole Trunfio, also attended the event, which was held at the beautiful Home Studios in the West Village. Take a look at part of my interview with Elin below...

What made you collaborate with Marciano?
I think it was a really fun and a good challenge because my brand from Guess, we don't share the same aesthetic so I thought it was fun to collaborate and try to find a good mix together. Also, I'm the first one that they've collaborated with so I thought that was fun too.

How have you incorporated your own style into the collection?
I tried not to have too much of my own style, but when I look at the collection I'm like, "Hmm, yes, you can definitely see my style in it." But also you can see with the denim and the oversized sweater that I wanted to find the perfect basics.

Obviously you've done a collaboration before with H&M, what is it that you like about collaborating with fashion labels?
I think for the first time with H&M, the best thing about that was was to learn about the process, to work with such a big company, it was really interesting. With Guess I thought it was very exciting ... they wanted to move their company to the next level and I think it was very interesting that they used me. I really like to be involved in the business, I learn so much.

Boyfriend.

The search is over - I finally found a pair of boyfriend jeans! I had been looking everywhere for a pair with the perfect fit and the right wash, which is hard to find, despite there being an endless supply of boyfriend jeans in stores at the moment. I picked up this pair from my favourite shop in New York, Zara. I also got these awesome skull slippers whilst I was there. I don't usually like things with skulls on, but I was attracted to these loafers the second I saw them.

Lust.

Isabel Marant silk shirt
Helmut Lang stretch leather pants
Rag & Bone sweater
Alexander Wang croc embossed Rafael
Alexander Wang Kori oxfords

Just a few items that I'd love to get my hands on. I wouldn't wear them all at the same time, but I could definitely see myself rotating these pieces all throughout winter in New York. I would do anything to have a pair of the Helmut Lang leather pants in my possession, they are simply perfect, I don't think I'd ever take them off. I'm also loving less feminine style shoes at the moment like oxfords; these Alexander Wang Kori's are amazing, I'm not entirely sure if I could pull them off though.

I've finally noticed that my beloved Diego is showing signs of wear, it still looks good because pebbled leather ages well, but I'd love to get another everyday bag. I saw this embossed, crocodile leather Rafael at the Alexander Wang boutique a couple of weeks ago and had to summon all my strength to stop myself from taking it home with me. Hopefully someone will be nice to me this Christmas...

Twomorrow on Instagram III.

Some more Instagram snaps of my latest purchases and a few of my outfits in New York:

1. I wasn't sure if I wanted to jump on the camouflage bandwagon, but when I spotted these jeans at Zara I didn't hesitate.
2. Just a simple outfit that I wore to the Bronx Zoo yesterday. I had the best day, it's such a beautiful zoo.
3. I finally got myself a pair of blue jeans. These ones are from Joe's Jeans, they are insanely soft and comfortable. I love the ripped knees, although they aren't very practical in the cold weather.
4. I was absolutely stoked when I found these silky, lace shorts at Zara on the weekend. I have always been a huge fan of the coveted Lover lace shorts, but could never justify spending over $300 on them.
5. I had to get these awesome pyjama style pants from Zara. It's so nice to just pop on a pair of lose, silky pants with a simple tee or singlet every once in a while.
5. What I wore to work today. I picked up this Zara knitted top with leather sleeves on the weekend; I love it's lose, boxy fit.
6. I had been contemplating getting a pair of neon heels, although I'm certainly more of a flats kind of girl. I love the style of these and they were on sale for $40, it's a no-brainer.
7. Just a casual outfit that I wore on Friday. I am in love with my Marant sneakers, I wish I never had to take them off.

Withdrawals.

 Photos from Ring My Bell.

This may sound a bit silly, but I really miss doing personal outfit posts. Kate and I love taking the time to put outfits together and find cute locations for shoots. We have both always been really passionate about photography, so it doesn't feel like a chore for us to take photos for the blog. The only downside to me being in New York for this internship is that we can't take photos together anymore. Thankfully Kate just booked flights to come and see me in December for three weeks, I can't wait. We will do heaps of outfit posts around the city while she's here, I've already found dozens of amazing locations and we both have heaps of new clothes to shoot. My boyfriend is also coming to visit me in November, so I'm going to bribe him to take some photos as well.

I love it when I discover new blogs, I become really obsessed with them and I look through about 50 pages or more to get a sense of the blogger's style (and to find new clothes to dream about). My latest find is Ring My Bell, which is the personal style blog of Ashley Madekwe, who plays Ashley Davenport on Revenge. I have seen heaps of photos from Ashley's blog and I always thought she looked like the girl from Revenge, but I only realised two days ago that it's actually her. I think Ashley's style is amazing, it's really easy to relate to because she wears a lot of affordable brands like Topshop and Zara, but she mixes them with designer labels like Alexander Wang and Chanel, which is something Kate and I love to do. I definitely recommend that you check out her blog if you haven't already.
