Studded.

Olivia's wearing: Zara shirt and tee, Joe's Jeans, Michael Kors watch, Jeffrey Campbell 'Everly' boots.

The moment I discovered that my apartment had a fire escape I knew I was really in New York. We couldn't resist taking a few snaps out there because we'll probably never get to take photos in a place like that again.

This camouflage shirt is the fifth studded shirt that we picked up from Zara whilst we were in America, because believe it or not, it's not that easy to find a good long-sleeved shirt. We love how the studded pockets adds depth and texture to what would have otherwise been a plain shirt with a masculine feel to it. We're definitely Summer girls at heart as we've always lived in cities where winter feels more like spring and summer feels like you're constantly in a sauna, so we've never had very exciting winter wardrobes. It's nice to know that we'll have more than just a few knits (that we actually like) when the cooler weather comes around this year. But for now we're happy wearing our Zimmermann bikinis and Chanel espadrilles.

Preppy.

Kate's wearing: H&M sweater, American Apparel collared shirt, Zara jacket, Current Elliott jeans, Zara boots, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, Free People iPhone case.

This is an outfit that we shot during one of our final days in New York and believe us, we definitely felt some nostalgic feelings whilst we were sifting through all the photos and editing these few. Although we love being back in Australia soaking up the summer sun, we also miss the long winter days in New York spent wandering around the city.

I picked up this vibrant coral sweater after seeing it on one of our favourite bloggers, Aimee Song. We love plain jumpers that can easily be incorporated into just about any winter look, but they're quite hard to find. We find that sweaters are always either too tight or too long, but we love this cable knit as it's basic, yet the colour gives it an extra something. We experimented with the 'preppy' look while we were in New York by wearing collared shirts under sweaters, because not only is it warm, but it also adds more detail to otherwise boring winter outfits.

We usually only upload photos of what we're wearing, but we couldn't resist throwing in a photo of the delectable Laduree macarons that we ate in Central Park, especially because they conveniently matched my polka dot jeans so well.

Devoted.

Olivia's wearing: Zimmermann Devoted lace playsuit, Rag & Bone hat, Karen Walker Helter Skelter sunglasses, Michael Kors watch, Hermes bracelet, Zara boots.

Good things come to those who wait is a saying that definitely rings true when it comes to fashion. I wanted this Zimmermann playsuit from the minute it first came out, which was well over a year ago, but I couldn't quite justify the price tag. Lucky I stuck it out because I found it on sale at the Zimmermann boutique in SoHo, of all places. It's become one of my go-to summer pieces, as it's easy to just quickly slip it on and pick some shoes and accessories to go with it. This Rag and Bone hat is another item that I'd had in the back of my mind for a while, but I was unsure whether I wanted to take the plunge because I've never been much of a hat person. It's hard to go wrong with Rag and Bone's minimalist styling, it seems that their hats are perfectly suited to just about any taste.

Cargo.

Kate's wearing: Rag & Bone top, Zara shorts and jacket, Urban Outfitters necklace, Celine sunglasses,
Zara boots, 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli bag.

Rag & Bone is a brand that we have always admired from afar, we're not quite sure why we haven't purchased any of their pieces sooner, they do such great basics and denim. The label's aesthetic really appeals to us, it's casual and simple with a slight flare, almost like a toned down Isabel Marant. We were lucky enough to stumble upon a Rag & bone outlet at Woodbury Common, which are amazing premium outlets an hour outside of New York, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to grab a few pieces, including one of their amazing hats which will be featured in our next post.

This outfit is another look that I put together to wear whilst in Florida, this time we were revisiting Universal Studios. My hair isn't usually this wild and curly but we had been on water rides all day and got absolutely soaked.

We thought we'd jump on the bandwagon like every other blogger and write a little something about our aspirations for the new year. We don't really believe in personal new year's resolutions, because let's face it, we usually give up by the middle of January. However, we do hope to improve our blog by putting more effort into our posts and we want to finally get a new DSLR since ours doesn't quite take photos like it used to. Thanks for following us over the past year, we hope that you continue to visit the blog in 2013 x

Wizarding.

Visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is something that I (Olivia) put on my bucket list when the park first opened as I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and couldn't wait to be immersed in the magical world. Stepping foot in Hogsmeade Village was nothing short of amazing, we didn't expect it to be so detailed and although the park is located in sunny Florida, with the snow-covered rooftops and workers dressed in Hogwarts robes, we honestly felt like we were actually walking through the village. From the moment I stepped inside the gates I was overwhelmed by how much work had gone into the park, everything is just how you imagine it in the books and see it in the films. Having a butter beer by Hogwarts Castle was definitely one of the highlights of my year and something that I will never forget.
